Why book at Alpaca Bambrugge?
At Alpaca Bambrugge, the well-being of our animals is always paramount in everything we do. We prepare them perfectly for the walk they'll be taking with you. This is enjoyable for them, as well as for you, your chosen companion, and/or your guide.
We can also adjust the formulas if there is someone in your group using a wheelchair or a buggy.
For small and large groups we arrange a nice stopover at Sportsbar Flamingo" in Steenberg, 't Hof Schuurke or in 't Vissershof.
A choice will be made depending on the group. With a playground, we'll choose 't Vissershof or Flamingo spotsbar.
There we enjoy a beer, a cocktail, tapas, pancakes, ice cream, or a croque monsieur. All while the alpacas lie quietly waiting next to us in the grass.
Afterwards we continue along pleasant roads, full of confidence and relaxation, back home.
And so a chance meeting led to alpaca Bambrugge!
How it all began…
In 2016, An and I set off on a motorcycle trip to Yerseke. The plan was simple: a day of fun, mussels and oysters, and then back home. But as often happens with the best stories, things took a slightly different turn.
Along the way, we came across a farm with no fewer than sixty alpacas roaming around. A beautiful sight, full of curious faces and soft wool. As we stood there watching, one walked right up to me. His name was Olli. Without hesitation, he gave me a kiss—and with that, something changed.
I asked half-smilingly: “That one is definitely not for sale?” To which Marianne from the farm replied with a wink: “Yes, it is!”
That meeting never left us alone.
During our dinner in Yerseke – while the mussels and oysters were served – we continued to talk about those special animals.
And then we made the decision: we would buy two alpacas,
Olli but Oxanna.
A week later they were already happily walking through my orchard in Bambrugge.
But as everyone knows, there's not much grass growing in November. So I decided to teach them to walk with a halter, to take them to a different pasture. It took some getting used to, but soon they bravely followed along. And so it began: what started as a practical solution slowly grew into something much bigger.
Because those first walks led to another, and another... until it became a permanent part of our lives. What once began with a motorcycle ride and a kiss from Olli became the birth of Alpaca Bambrugge: a place where people and animals meet, and where every walk is a little adventure. 🦙✨
