Alpacas can be sheared starting in May. This must be done annually to prevent disease. We have undergone the necessary training in the Netherlands and have years of experience shearing alpacas.
We'll take this opportunity to assess the animal's general condition based on our experience, without assessing its medical condition (we are not veterinarians). If you'd like, we'll share our tips & tricks to help you enjoy your alpacas even more.

Prices with VAT (per alpaca) included:
- Shearing and nail clippings: €60 per alpaca and health check.
- Extra blade for shaving: €10.
- Teeth trimming: €10 per alpaca. Please notify us in advance.
- Travel costs: Per kilometer, €0.4237.
An additional shearing blade should usually be used if the wool contains a lot of soil or sand. Therefore, it is recommended to keep the animals away from soil and sand before shearing (see notes below).
Travel costs are charged for the number of kilometers from "Alpaca Bambrugge" to you and back.
Comments
- The installation, tying, shearing, nail grooming, and cleaning up of an alpaca takes about 45 minutes per alpaca.
- Alpacas must be dry when sheared.
- It's best to place the alpacas on grass for a few days before shearing, not on sand or soil. After all, shearing a coat that contains a lot of soil and/or sand quickly dulls the blade. There's a €10 charge for using an extra blade.
- Place the alpacas in their stalls beforehand so they can be captured quickly. A surcharge applies for capturing alpacas not in a stall.
- Provide plastic and electricity.
- You must provide one assistant. This person will help us position the animal correctly for shearing and keep its neck down.
- If you don't have a helper, we can provide one for 15 euros per hour, starting from the time you leave "Alpaca Bambrugge" until your return home.

Photoshoots
Every guided walk includes a photoshoot. We'll take the photos and send them to you the same day via WhatsApp or AirDrop.
You can also book specific photoshoots in advance for the time you spend with our animals at weddings, birthday parties, family gatherings, team building events, bachelor parties, etc. This way, you'll have a fun and tangible memory of it.
